We hear from a lot of people that want to combine a visit to Yellowstone National park with a Wyoming dude ranch vacation. Since the most convenient airport to the Lazy L&B is Jackson Hole and we’re located only 1.5 hours from the south entrance to Yellowstone we’re in a good position to make this happen.
When possible we always encourage guests to visit the park before heading to us. Two million people visit Yellowstone each summer – it’s a busy place! It’s kind of nice to end your trip on a more peaceful note.
Even if you don’t have a lot of extra time if you can fly into Jackson on Friday you can fit in a trip to the park. Depending on how much park you want to pack into the Saturday there’s a couple of options. You can easily make the trip to Old Faithful and back to Jackson in just over 5 hours. If you’re willing to spend about 8 hours then we suggest you head to Old Faithful, walk around the Geyser Basin and fuel up with some snacks from the General Store. From there head to West Yellowstone for lunch at one of the many restaurants. Your return drive to Jackson has some beautiful landscapes as you drive south through Idaho and then over Teton Pass to arrive back to Jackson in time for dinner. After a good night’s sleep you’ll have plenty of time to get to the ranch and out on the trails Sunday afternoon.
